Arrested: Jacob Miller, 46, Boise
Charges: Leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury or death (F)- 2 counts
Just after 9:30 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2024, Boise Police responded to a hit and run at 11th and Main Street. Two adult female pedestrians were injured, and the suspected driver continued driving, striking other vehicles as he fled. Witnesses followed the driver, and he was stopped and taken into police custody near E Parkcenter Blvd & Pennsylvania St.
Multiple roads were shut down as police investigated the large scene which occurred around the same time as another large event in downtown Boise was wrapping up. Drivers were asked to avoid Main Street and Idaho Street from 6th to 11th. A BPD Crash Reconstruction Team as well as the BPD Violent Crimes Unit responded to investigate. The roads are now open.
The two victims both received life-threatening injuries and are being treated at a local hospital.
The suspect, identified as Jacob Miller, was also taken to a local hospital, and upon his release was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charges. Additional charges are possible.
Call Dispatch: As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives would like to speak with anyone who was a witness and who has not yet spoken with police. Also, if your vehicle was damaged in the incident, detectives would like to speak to you for a report. Police also ask that any business on Main St. between 13th and 5th that have video of Main St. contact dispatch.

We thank the many witnesses who acted quickly to provide immediate assistance and all those who have come forward with information on this tragic event. Our officers will continue to work with the community to strictly enforce the law, particularly as it relates to vulnerable road users in the downtown core. Please drive carefully as we all work to keep downtown Boise a safe place to be,” said BPD Captain Jim Quackenbush.
