On January 19, 2025, at approximately 10:09 pm, Boise Police responded to a reported shooting in the 1400 block of N. Cole Rd. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a male adult with a life-threatening injury and a female adult with a non-life-threatening injury. The victims were quickly taken to a local hospital and officers immediately began an investigation and gathering evidence on scene.

Based on evidence, officers were able to identify a possible vehicle involved and they located the vehicle at a residence on the 300 block of N. Meridian Road in Meridian. Officers established a perimeter around the home and Meridian’s Special Tactics Group responded to the scene. Around 1:00 am three male suspects were safely taken into custody.

Following further investigation, evidence shows the suspects and the victims initially met up at a location near the 1400 block of N. Cole Rd. in Boise.  There was a dispute over property and the suspects took the victim’s phone, wallet, and ID.  The victims followed the suspects a short distance in their vehicle and a second confrontation occurred, with the victims being shot at while they were in their vehicle.

Roads around the original scene on Cole Road were shut down during the investigation and are now back open. Roads around the 300 block of N. Meridian Road were also temporarily blocked during the investigation and are now back open.  The two juvenile suspects are being booked into the Ada County Juvenile Detention Center.  The adult suspect, Daniel Alaniz Pineda, was booked into the Ada County Jail.

We want to thank the Meridian and Garden City Police Departments, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ada County Paramedics for their teamwork and cooperation throughout the night.
