BPD investigating suspected drowning on Boise River

July 1, 2025

On June 30, 2025, around 5:36 p.m., Boise Police responded to multiple calls about a possible drowning on the Boise River near 9th Street and River.  Officers arrived to find people doing CPR on a male adult.  Officers took over CPR until Boise Fire and Ada County Paramedics arrived and took the victim to a local hospital.  Sadly, the man did not survive.  A preliminary investigation shows the man was floating the river with friends when his single inner tube got caught on a tree and he went under the water.

Boise Police and the Ada County Coroner are conducting a death investigation. The Ada County Coroner will release the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
