Boise Police arrest suspect following shots fired calls

Arrested: Joshua Pereira, 21, Boise

Charges:  2 counts - Weapon-Unlawful Discharge at a House, Occupied Building, Vehicle, etc. (F), Driving Under the Influence - Excessive (M)

On March 15, 2025, shortly after 9:30 pm, Boise Police responded to two separate shots fired calls in the area of Five Mile Rd. and Ustick Rd. At the first location on the 11000 block of Goldenrod Ave. evidence indicates an unknown suspect driving down the street fired shots, striking the window of a home. There were no reported injuries. Officers secured the scene and began an area search for the suspect. Just before 10 pm, dispatch received another report of shots fired on the 9000 block of Lancelot Ave. Evidence indicates a white male suspect wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt was driving a maroon or burgundy sedan and fired shots toward a home. There were no reported injuries and officers found no damage to nearby homes.

Just after 10:45 pm officers were dispatched to the 8000 block of Morning Mist Ct. for a suspicious suspect and vehicle. Evidence indicates the suspect approached a home, rang the doorbell and attempted to open the door. Responding officers located the suspect, Joshua Pereira, as well as his vehicle, which matched the description of the vehicle in the previous shots fired call. Officers began a vehicle search, locating evidence including bullet holes in the windshield and a firearm. Evidence also indicates Pereira was under the influence of alcohol during these incidents. Following an investigation, Pereira was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charges.
