On March 21, 2025, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Boise Police and Boise Fire responded to a traffic collision near the intersection of Cole Rd. and Ustick Rd. The crash involved a motorcycle and one other vehicle. Ada County Paramedics took the motorcyclist to a local hospital with injuries that appeared on scene to be life-threatening. No other injuries were reported. As of today, March 25, 2025, the adult male motorcyclist remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle rider was traveling westbound on Ustick Rd. and had stopped in the middle turn lane, waiting to turn left into the library parking lot. The rider turned across the first lane of eastbound traffic, which was stopped at the light, but collided with a vehicle traveling in the second eastbound lane.
The Boise Police Crash Reconstruction Team and detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene. Ustick Rd., west of Cole Rd., was closed for several hours while Boise Police conducted their investigation. No charges or citations have been issued, and the investigation is ongoing.
