Arrested: Brian Jones, 36, Boise

On November 20, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Boise Police officers responded to a hotel in the 2500 block of Sunrise Rim after dispatch received a call from a man stating he had killed his friend. Officers arrived quickly, took the suspect into custody, and secured the scene. Inside one of the rooms, officers located the body of an adult male. Ada County Paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the investigation, the suspect, Brian Jones, informed dispatch that he had killed his friend, his friend said he wanted to go, and he called it assisted suicide. Under Idaho Code Section 39-4514, assisted suicide is illegal. Following further investigation, Jones was booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charge.
The investigation is ongoing. The victim’s name will be released by the Ada County Coroner’s Office once next of kin have been notified.
