The City of Boise is making it easy to safely dispose of your unused and unwanted prescription drugs. The Boise Police Department, City of Boise Curb It Program, and AARP Idaho are hosting a National Prescription Drug Take Back Drive-Thru event on Saturday, October 25th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at City Hall West.
Unused or leftover prescription drugs can sometimes find their way into the wrong hands, posing serious risks to public safety and the environment. When prescription drugs are flushed down the toilet or drain, they can also disrupt the city’s water renewal process. Disposing of unwanted medications proactively and properly can help reduce the risk of misuse and keep harmful pharmaceutical compounds out of our water and landfills. We encourage all residents to practice safe disposal to protect both the community and the environment, and this event makes that process easier and more accessible.
It’s simple. You don’t even have to get out of your car! On Saturday, Boise Police officers and staff from the City of Boise and AARP will be on standby to quickly collect your prescription drugs and ensure they are properly disposed of.
