On April 20, 2026, Boise Police arrested a suspect following an investigation into a bank robbery that occurred on April 14, 2026, near Vista Avenue and Overland Road.
Shortly after the robbery, Boise Police released photos of the suspect on social media, asking for the public’s assistance. Tips from community members helped investigators quickly identify a suspect. The Boise Police Violent Crimes Unit continued its investigation and obtained a warrant for the suspect’s arrest. The suspect, Joaquin Pereira, was located in Boise and taken into custody without incident.
“We want to thank everyone who sent in tips and shared the message,” said Boise Police Sergeant Justin Kendall. “We are grateful to have a strong partnership with our community that helps keep our city safe.”

Boise Police are asking for your help keeping an eye out following a bank robbery this afternoon at Vista and Overland. The suspect is seen in these photos. No injuries were reported, and the suspect got away on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
