On April 29, 2025, at 2:48 pm, Boise Police responded to a multi-vehicle injury crash on N. Americana Blvd. at the entrance to Ann Morrison Park. Sadly, an adult male driver and a dog riding in one of the vehicles passed away from their injuries. The Boise Police Violent Crime Unit and Crash Reconstruction team responded, and Americana was closed between Crescent Rim and Shoreline while they investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
A preliminary investigation shows that a pickup truck heading northbound on Americana struck a passenger car turning left into the park from southbound Americana. Those two vehicles then collided with two other vehicles stopped at the light. The driver and dog who passed away were in the passenger car first struck by the pickup truck. There were no other serious injuries.
The investigation is ongoing. The Ada County Coroner will release the identity of the driver who passed away pending notification of next of kin.
