City of Boise Announces Orchard Sewer Upgrade Project Construction Update

October 18, 2023

Update: All construction is complete, lanes are now open.

As part of the City of Boise's ongoing efforts to improve vital local infrastructure, it recently announced a new phase of construction for the Orchard Sewer Upgrade project that will temporarily close the Orchard and Overland intersection.

Beginning on October 23, the intersection of Orchard Street and Overland Road will be temporarily closed for 11 days. This closure is necessary to expedite construction activities and complete the project by November 10.

The City of Boise understands the inconvenience this closure may cause. It assures residents and businesses that this short-term disruption is crucial to ensure the long-term reliability and efficiency of the city's sewer system. We remain committed to minimizing disruption to the greatest extent possible.

Please plan routes accordingly during this 11-day closure, and the City of Boise encourages all affected parties to follow detour signs and use alternate routes as necessary. The City appreciates the community's continued patience and understanding as it works diligently to enhance our city's infrastructure and sustainability.
