Celebrate Earth Day with the City of Boise

April 8, 2026

BOISE – Celebrate Earth Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 with the City of Boise at The WaterShed, Boise’s climate and water science center. Explore simple, meaningful ways to care for the place we call home with activities provided by more than 25 community partners. From hands-on activities to local resources, the event highlights how small actions can make a big difference for our environment.

“For years, the City of Boise’s Earth Day celebration has brought us together to learn how we can each take steps to keep Boise clean, healthy, and thriving,” said Mayor Lauren McLean. “I invite all who are able to attend to this free, family-friendly event.”

The first 200 attendees will get a free corn dog or tots; visitors are encouraged to bike to the event using the Boise River Greenbelt for a fun, climate-friendly ride.

This year, the city is also encouraging residents to take the next step through Keep Boise Cool, Boise’s community climate action guide. By creating a personalized climate action plan, residents can find easy ways to reduce energy use, conserve water, and cut waste at home and in their daily routines.

Earth Day is just the beginning. Over the next three months, the city is hosting climate-friendly transportation events, workshops, and volunteer opportunities designed to help residents take cleaner commutes by hopping on a bus, bike, scooter or carpool to reduce carbon emissions.
