Boise residents can be proud to live in one of America’s most successful cities. But our community’s quality of life has attracted new residents and investment. As we grow, we must ensure that we can retain our livability.
Community Conversations are an opportunity for Boise residents to come together to talk about key issues through facilitated small and large group conversations. Findings from these sessions are shared with the Mayor and Boise City Council to help inform future policy decisions.
Community Conversations on Transportation
In early May, the city hosted a series of Community Conversations focused on transportation. In this series, participants had the opportunity to identify transportation concerns throughout the city and provide feedback on the city's transportation priorities for the future.
Feedback from these sessions is being compiled into a report that will be presented to the Mayor and City Council in the coming weeks.
Look for the report on the Community Conversations on Transportation coming soon. The report will be posted here for your reference.
Community Conversations on Growth
In 2018, the City of Boise hosted a series of broad community conversations. The focus of the first series of conversations was on growth and housing. These conversations helped the city:
- Gain a deeper understanding of residents’ thoughts and priorities on growth and engage in a conversation about its benefits and challenges
- Provide context around the city’s comprehensive plan for managing growth, Blueprint Boise
- Define a path forward that continues to protect those things that make Boise so special
Four major themes from the workshops were housing affordability, transportation, cultural and environmental preservation and governance. To explore these issues more deeply, Mayor Bieter is inviting both participants in the first workshops and any other Boise residents who want to join this conversation to sign up for the second round of Community Conversations on Growth.
