Mayors' Awards to Youth

Since 1994, the Mayors of Ada County have been honoring remarkable local students annually at the Mayors' Awards to Youth. These awards highlight and honor young people who have demonstrated tremendous character by rising above hardships, serving their communities and consistently exhibiting kindness and consideration for others.

Awards will be presented to students from each middle school, junior high and senior high school from Boise, Eagle, Garden City, Kuna, Meridian, and Star area schools. This year, the ceremony to honor these remarkable students will be held Thursday, April 25th at 6:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers on the third floor of Boise City Hall.

Every year we are moved and humbled by the dedication these students demonstrate, and we look forward to honoring this special group of young people.

Nomination Process

This nomination form is to be filled out by school staff only. Nominations will be accepted Friday, March 15 through Wednesday April 3, 2024.

This award seeks to recognize young people who have shown strength of character by overcoming obstacles, demonstrating compassion, and serving their communities. Educators are urged to consider students of any class standing whose actions and accomplishments are an inspiration to others in their community.

Requirements

• Students may be nominated regardless of class standing from each middle school, junior high school and senior high school in Ada County
  (7th-12th grades only)
• Public schools may nominate up to two students
• Home school networks may nominate up to two students
• Private schools may nominate one student
• If your school can nominate two students, please fill out a separate nomination form for each student

All students nominated will be recognized with the award. Schools are expected to discuss with their nominees before completing the nomination form.
