Linear Park and Pathway at West Goddard Road

Boise Parks and Recreation is constructing a three-acre linear park and pathway along W. Goddard Road in West Boise. The property, which is adjacent to Settlers Canal and across the street from Capital High School, was donated to the City of Boise by the Settlers Irrigation District in July 2022.

The linear park and pathway master plan design was developed based on stakeholder initiative and community feedback. The master plan was approved by the Boise Parks and Recreation Commission on January 19, 2023. The master plan has also been approved by partner agencies. Design elements for the park and pathways include pollinator plantings with native shrubs and perennials, a 10-foot-wide accessible multi-use pathway, a shade pavilion with seating, garden walkways and lighting, and raised seat walls.

Next Steps

Planned on-site work wrapped up in January and Boise Parks and Recreation is pleased to open the multi-use pathway throughout the park to the public for use. We ask for your patience as the team completes final details in the spring.

Additional planting and stabilization of the garden pathways is expected in the coming months, along with seed establishment.

A formal dedication along with an unveiling of the site’s name is expected to take place following completion of finishing touches later in 2025.

Additional updates and information will be shared with the community as it is available.

Project completion estimates are subject to change due to volatility in the construction industry. Current challenges include material availability, rising costs, supply chain disruptions, staffing shortages and more. Boise Parks and Recreation will update project timelines as needed if delays occur.
