The City of Boise Public Works Department has certain requirements based on the type of development.
Please note, our conditions for final public works occupancy inspections were updated for permits issued in 2025. Certification letters now require photos of these elements to be included prior to approval:
- Roof drains and yard drains prior to burial
- Connection point to the subdivision or approved location
- All retaining walls
- Foundation drain outfalls
Commercial, Industrial, Residential or Subdivision

To schedule an inspection for any of the following, please contact City of Boise Public Works Inspections at (208) 608-7549.
- Sewer tap
- Sewer plug
- Sanitary sewer (new construction within public right-of-way)
- Commercial drainage
- Street light installation
- Pressure irrigation system installation and testing
