Boise Fire responds to 18 firework related fires

Between the 3rd and 5th of July, Boise Fire was called out to 18 fires, three of these were determined to be caused by fireworks while four were not related to fireworks. 11 other fires during this period are also possibly related to fireworks. Six were dumpster fires that may have been caused by improperly discarded fireworks and the other five were small grass or shrub fires. Many of the calls during this period were for small grass fires, with no significant damage. Last year during the same time period we responded to ten firework related fires.
