Fire crews respond to structure fire on Maymie Road

June 7, 2021

Around 8:30 pm on Sunday fire crews responded to a structure fire on the 10000 block of Maymie Rd. A battalion chief and engine crew with Eagle Fire were first on scene to assist and witnessed heavy fire coming from the back of the residence. Boise Fire crews including four engines, two trucks, a battalion chief, a safety officer, a fire investigator and an EMS supervisor were on scene along with Boise Police and Ada County Paramedics.  Due to the visible smoke and windy conditions there was an immediate concern for surrounding homes and crews quickly worked to stop the fire from spreading. Firefighters were able to contain the fire damage to the property and get the fire under control in about 20 minutes. The residents were able to get out of the home safely when the fire started and luckily there were no injuries reported. The fire caused extensive damage to the home and the residents have been displaced. They are receiving assistance from the Boise Firefighters Local 149 Burnout Fund. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
