Mayor Lauren McLean will recommend commercial real estate broker John Stevens be appointed to a five-year term serving on the Capital City Development Corporation (CCDC) Board of Commissioners.
“John has the necessary background to succeed in this role and shares our vision to create a city for everyone,” said Mayor McLean. “I appreciate his willingness to serve and look forward to recommending him to the city council.”
Stevens has been involved in commercial sales and leasing since 1997. He has worked at TOK Commercial since 2003 and works extensively with non-profit clients. Stevens is dedicated to improving the Boise community and volunteers his time on several local boards including Idaho Business for the Outdoors and the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce.
“Having lived and worked in Boise for the last 19 years as a commercial real estate broker, I’m honored to receive Mayor McLean’s recommendation,” said Stevens. “I’ve spent my career fulfilling commercial real estate needs for small and large businesses, property owners, schools, lenders, non-profits, developers and tenants. I believe CCDC’s vision and values are more relevant than ever to help maintain and promote a sustainable economy. I look forward to bringing my perspective on the city to the board and am excited to be a part of the process.”
CCDC is a public redevelopment agency that serves as a catalyst for quality private development through urban design, economic development, and infrastructure investment. Commissioners are selected by the mayor and confirmed by the Boise City Council. With up to nine voting members, commissioners represent, as much as possible, the broad spectrum of people who enjoy all that Boise has to offer.
Council members will consider the mayor’s recommendation at the regularly scheduled Boise City Council meeting on June 29.
