City of Boise Seeking Applicants for Districting Commission

May 4, 2022

You can serve the Boise community and help create a city for everyone by working to redraw the district map for city council elections. The City of Boise is looking for applicants to serve on its new Districting Commission.

The citizen commission will lead a transparent process to draw the map for city council elections, which will stand for as long as a decade. The panel will have five commissioners appointed by the mayor from across the city.

Interested residents must be eligible to vote in Boise and must not have run for city council in the last 5 years nor plan to for 5 years after serving. They must be available to meet starting in July and would finish up their work in November.

The deadline to apply for the City of Boise’s new Districting Commission has been extended two weeks to encourage a diverse pool of candidates reflective of the community.

Residents can apply now by sending a cover letter and resume to commissionapplications@cityofboise.org. Please put “Boise Districting Commission” in the subject line of your email. The new deadline to apply is June 17, 2022 at 5 p.m.
