Officers Arrest Suspect on Felony Stalking Warrant

February 2, 2018

Arrested: Troy Fowler, 38, Boise

Charges: Stalking – First Degree (F)

Boise Police arrested Troy Fowler after an investigation into reports that Fowler violated an active protection order.  Evidence shows Fowler made attempts to contact the protected party, including attempting to contact the victim through a 3rd party.

As part of the investigation, officers tried to make contact with Fowler at a residence on the 7000 block of Danbury Ct. on Feb. 2nd. The suspect refused to speak with police. Based on the evidence, a warrant was obtained for Fowler’s arrest on a charge of felony first degree stalking.  Police continued to try and make contact with the suspect but he refused to respond to police commands to exit the residence. The Boise Police Crisis Negotiation Team was activated and they spent several hours talking with the suspect. Eventually officers with the Special Operation Unit deployed a chemical agent, also known as tear gas, into the home and the suspect exited the residence. The suspect still would not comply and officers were forced to deploy a taser to take the suspect into custody. The suspect was immediately given aid by the Ada County TacMed team on scene.  He will be taken to a local hospital for evaluation before being booked into jail.

Cole Road north of Amity was closed during the investigation but it is now back open.
