A Boise man with a felony warrant for manufacturing of a controlled substance was taken into custody on Wednesday by Boise Police officers and members of the United States Marshall’s Task Force.  The arrest comes after the man and another Boise man were involved in a plane crash in Oregon in June and later arrested there on felony drug charges.  Following the crash, BPD officers received reports of a potential illegal drug laboratory operation at a residence shared by the two in Boise’s North End.

What Happened:  The suspects, identified as 38-year-old Mathew Thompson and 34-year-old Zachary Moore, were involved in a plane crash in Medford on June 8th.  According to media reports, they received minor injuries in the crash.  Following an investigation by local law enforcement in Oregon, the two were taken into custody on felony drug charges.

Following the incident in Medford, BPD Neighborhood Contact Officers received concerns from North End neighbors of illicit drug activity at a home in Boise.  Boise Police NCO officers, along with BPD Narcotics detectives and special agents from Homeland Security Investigations, performed a search of the home on June 12.  Upon search, officers located equipment that indicated a suspected drug manufacturing operation was taking place inside the home.  Officers also found evidence that the two residents of the home were Mathew Thompson and Zachary Moore.

Investigators forwarded the results of the search to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office and felony arrest warrants were issued for Thompson and Moore.  Thompson was taken into custody in Boise on Wednesday in the area of Five Mile and Lake Hazel and is currently being held at the Ada County Jail on a federal detention warrant.  Moore remains outstanding.
