Police looking for witnesses, video from shooting near 6th and Grove

Boise Police detectives are continuing to investigate a shooting that happened in the area of 6th Street and Grove Street around 1:30 am on Sunday. There was a large crowd when the shooting took place and detectives believe there may be additional witnesses or cell phone video from before, during, and after the incident. Detectives are also looking for any businesses on 6th street between Main and Front that may have surveillance video from around that time.  Anyone with video or additional information is asked to call dispatch at 208-377-6790 or contact Crime Stoppers at 208- 343-COPS (2677). The suspect, Timmothy Morgan, was arraigned today in Ada County Court. His bond was set at $2,000,000.

The Ada County Coroner has identified the victim as 28-year-old Lamont Rogers.

Shortly after 1:30 am officers in the downtown core heard multiple shots fired in the area of 6th St. and Grove St. As officers approached the intersection they observed an adult male victim on the ground being dragged out of the street by another adult male. Several subjects in the area were given verbal commands to get on the ground as officers secured the scene. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds and officers worked to perform lifesaving care until paramedics arrived. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene. Officers interviewed multiple witnesses and evidence indicates the suspect fled the area before officers arrived. A large perimeter was set and officers searched the area. Upon further investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect as Timmothy Morgan and he was taken into custody.  Morgan was booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charges.
