Around 8:30 am Boise Police officers responded to a call for service near W. Franklin St. between N. 17th Street & N. 18th Street. Responding officers located a deceased person and detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit were called out to conduct a death investigation. Anytime there is a suspicious unattended death, Violent Crimes detectives will respond to the scene. As part of the investigation, officers secured the area and began documenting the evidence. Detectives worked with the Ada County Coroner’s Office to investigate the cause of death and to identify the person. At this time, it appears the death was the result of a completed suicide, the final cause and manner of death will be officially determined by the Ada County Coroner’s Office. The Coroner’s Office is also working to contact the next of kin.
