The Boise Police Department identifies the officers in the shooting on August 3rd on the 1100 block of S. Dale St. as Corporal. A. Johnson (23 years law enforcement experience), and Officer G. Miller (2 years law enforcement experience).

The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force (CITF) led by the Meridian Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting on the 1100 block of S. Dale St. in Boise.
At 10:54 am Boise Police were responding to a call into dispatch from the 1100 block of S. Dale St. Responding officers were parked in a nearby lot and made contact with an adult male subject in his 50's. They had some dialogue with the subject before he came into the parking lot carrying multiple weapons. The subject did not comply with officers’ request to drop the weapons. The subject charged toward the officers and was in close proximity when officers discharged their service weapons. The suspect was struck and died at the scene.
No officers were physically injured. As is customary, the involved officers will be placed on administrative leave, per policy. The information in this news release is considered preliminary pending the CITF investigation. The CITF investigation is ongoing and detectives ask anyone who witnessed the critical incident to call Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790.
