BPD investigating fatal crash near E. Lake Forest Dr

On December 8, 2023, around 01:25 am, Boise Police responded to a car crash on the 5000 block of S. Impatiens Place.  Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had collided with a fence.  The Boise Fire Department responded with extrication equipment along with Ada County Paramedics. Officers and first responders attempted lifesaving care for the driver but he unfortunately passed away at the scene.  The Boise Police Crash Reconstruction Team responded and began an investigation.  Preliminary evidence suggests the driver was headed east on Lake Forest Drive at a high rate of speed when he left the roadway near S. Impatiens Place, crossed over a berm, struck a large tree, and then a fence.  The Ada County Coroner will identify the man pending notification of next of kin.  It appears the driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and there were no other cars involved.  The investigation is ongoing.
