The Boise Police Department (BPD) along with the Meridian Police Department, Ada County Sheriff’s Office, and Garden City Police Department worked to investigate and locate four individuals accused of multiple crimes. Officers began investigating the suspects after several vehicle burglaries where firearms and other items were stolen out of locked and unlocked vehicles.  In addition to the vehicle burglaries officers investigated multiple reports of violence involving the suspects including the possible involvement in a shooting where shots were fired, but no one was injured in Boise and another shooting in Garden City.

As part of their investigation detectives obtained search and arrest warrants for the suspects which were issued yesterday. Due to the suspects’ history of violence and access to firearms, BPD’s and ACSO’s Special Operations Unit or SWAT team were activated to ensure the safest solution possible.   At 9:00 a.m. officers served the warrants at homes on W. Glen Ellyn Ct. and Evening Star in Boise. Officers called for the residents at both homes to come out multiple times using phones and a loudspeaker.  Members of BPD’s Crisis Negotiations Team and Interpreters were also on hand to help give instructions and contact people as they exited the home.  On W. Glen Ellyn St. officers were not getting any response from inside the home and they used a distraction device that causes a loud noise and flash to make sure anyone asleep or not responding otherwise received an additional auditory alert that officers were present.  Also to ensure the safety of the residents and the officers, officers used a robot and an unmanned aerial device to initially make entry and search the homes.  At 4:00 pm an additional warrant was served at a home on Pembrooke Dr.

Following yesterday’s warrant service and additional investigation, four suspects were taken into custody and booked on the listed charges. No one was injured. BPD and Ada County Dispatch also used the Code Red Emergency Alert system to notify residents in the area about the situation.
