Boise Police investigating unattended death in canal, no signs of foul play

On July 16, 2025, shortly after 6:30 am, dispatch received a report of a deceased person in a canal near Eagle Rd. and Wainwright Dr. Upon arrival, Boise Fire crews located a deceased adult male victim. Boise Police secured the area, and detectives began conducting a death investigation. The investigation is ongoing, but at this point, there appear to be no signs of foul play.  The Ada County Coroner’s Office will release his identity pending notification of next of kin.
