At approximately 3:25 p.m., Boise Police responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a truck and a sedan at W. Chinden Boulevard and N. Five Mile Road. Sadly, an adult female passenger in the sedan passed away at the scene. The adult male driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The two occupants of the truck were not injured.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the truck was traveling eastbound on Chinden Boulevard, while the sedan was heading westbound and attempting to turn left onto southbound Five Mile Road when the collision occurred in the intersection.
Chinden Boulevard was temporarily closed in both directions but has since reopened. The Boise Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit and Crash Reconstruction Team responded, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The Ada County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name following notification of next of kin.
