Need Interpretation or Translation Services?

The City of Boise provides free interpretation and translation services for city-related matters, including:

  • Applying for permits such as food trucks or building projects
  • Paying City bills like utilities or parking tickets
  • Reserving City facilities and spaces
  • Submitting a public records request
  • Accessing housing resources
  • Filling out City forms or using other City services
  • Emergency situations involving police, fire, or other City departments

Language Support Available

In person or by phone

We can help you with language support when you call or visit. We have ‘I Speak’ cards for you to show your language. For quick assistance, we can connect with an interpreter by phone or use PocketTalk devices for on-the-spot translation.

Planned Interactions

(In-person appointments, meetings, events, etc.)

You can schedule in-person appointments to request interpretation or translation services for city events or city-sponsored activities. We can assist with translating city documents or providing an interpreter if you need help in a language other than English, including American Sign Language (ASL). Live interpretation is available for planned events and meetings.
