10-Minute Walk

The City of Boise set a goal to ensure every family has access to a park or open space reserve within a 10-minute walk from their home. The 10-Minute Walk Program is a national initiative, led by the Trust for Public Lands, to expand equitable access and green spaces for everyone.

Today, 70% of Boiseans have access to park space within 10 minutes.

Boise Parks and Recreation is committed to providing safe, easy access to parks and open spaces for everyone. Our team is working to identify areas in Boise that would benefit from improved access, and opportunities to expand our park, open space and pathway system.

Upcoming Projects:

Primrose Park

Primrose Park is a 1.5-acre park located off Gary Lane in Northwest Boise. The development of the park has started.

Linear Park and Pathway at West Goddard Road

Construction has begun at the park.

Shamrock Street Park Site

The City of Boise used Open Space and Clean Water levy funds to purchase and preserve 1-acre of property in West Boise for a future park and open space site.
