Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex – Master Plan Update

The 30-acre Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex is a special use park located in West Boise at the intersection of Eagle and McMillan Roads. Currently, approximately 10 acres of park property on site remain undeveloped, and a master plan revision process was completed in 2023/2024 to determine the future design of the undeveloped portion of the park.
Funding for additional park features and amenities at Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex is planned in the fiscal year 2025 City of Boise budget.
October 2024 Update
Funding for additional park features and amenities at Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex is planned in the fiscal year 2025 City of Boise budget. The estimated $1.2 million in impact fee funds includes construction of a new basketball court, nature playground, additional skate features, bike trails, a bike pump track, fenced dog park and pollinator plantings in the currently undeveloped area of the park. The project is currently in the detailed design phase and our team is working to incorporate feedback received from the community into the finalized design plan for contractors. Construction is expected to start on site in the summer of 2025. Additional updates on project groundbreaking and construction will be posted as they become available.
The updated master plan was presented to Boise Parks and Recreation Commission on Thursday, April 18, 2024 and approved by commissioners. Please click the link green button below to view it.
The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset and offers a variety of recreational opportunities for residents and visitors of all ages. From the stocked fishing pond to walking paths, a playground, a skate park and sports fields utilized by little league organizations from across the Treasure Valley, there is room to play and explore throughout the McDevitt park space.
The goal of the park master plan revision process is to finalize the park’s design plan in order to maximize use of the currently undeveloped property on site. Per the site’s original purchase agreement, the park property must be used for outdoor recreation.
Our team values your input on potential amenities and design elements and is excited to share the next phase of the master plan outreach process.
