Notice: Geothermal Water Discharge Near East Old Penitentiary Road
The Boise Warm Springs Water District is discharging geothermal water near its well house on East Old Penitentiary Road. This project may last until mid-October. The water is not hot enough to cause burns, but visitors to Eagle Rock Park and Chief Eagle Eye Reserve may see standing water on some trails, including Hot Springs Trail and Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Trail. Please follow all posted signs and avoid closed areas for your safety.
Eagle Rock Park was built on land leased by the City of Boise from the state of Idaho. The land was leased to the city for 50 years in 1983. This neighborhood park is close to the historic Warm Springs State Penitentiary.
Amenities include a playground, open play areas, reservable picnic shelter, restrooms, a basketball court, one tennis court and two pickleball courts.

Park is open from sunrise to sunset.

There is limited parking on site.

Restrooms are available at this park. Restrooms are open and park drinking fountains are now operational.

Open play areas are cut grass spaces that provide opportunities for healthy recreational activities for people of all ages.
Playground
Playground is for ages 2-12.
The playgrounds are on a surface of wood chips.
Pickleball
This park has two dedicated pickleball courts.
- OCTOBER THROUGH MARCH, court hours are sunrise to sunset.
- APRIL THROUGH SEPTEMBER, court hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This park has one tennis court open to the public for drop-in play. Reservations are not available at this location.
Smoking Prohibition
Smoking and vaping are prohibited in all City of Boise parks, including within 20 feet of the Boise River Greenbelt, except in designated areas within Ann Morrison and Julia Davis Parks and at city-owned golf courses.
