Hewett Playground Update – January 2024
Boise Parks and Recreation is reaching out to provide an update regarding the planned replacement of the playground at Hewett Park, located at 11211 W. McMillan Road. Project is currently in the design phase.
The playground was initially scheduled for replacement in fall of 2022, but due to supply chain issues, staffing levels, and increased project costs, site work is now expected to begin in the summer of 2024. We understand you are looking forward to a new playground with accessible surfacing and fun features for families to enjoy. The old two pods will be removed and the new playground will be combined into one pod. An ADA accessible concrete walk will also be installed to connect residents between W McMillan Road on the north side of the park and N Oxbow Place on the southside of the park.
We continue to work hard to complete this playground as quickly as we can. Thank you for your continued patience.
We apologize for this delay and appreciate your understanding. Feel free to email us with any concerns or questions.
Smoking and vaping are prohibited in all City of Boise parks, including within 20 feet of the Boise River Greenbelt, except in designated areas within Ann Morrison and Julia Davis Parks and at city-owned golf courses.
Unauthorized vehicles will be towed at owner's risk and expense. You can contact Boise Valley Towing by calling (208) 389-9707.
The Master Plan is a concept drawing illustrating recreation facilities and landscape features planned for a park site. It does not necessarily represent what amenities are currently in a park.
