Over-the-range microwaves need to be taken to the Recovery and Diversion area of the Ada County Landfill. Countertop microwaves can go to a Household Hazardous Waste mobile site, or the Reuse and Recovery area of the landfill.
You can also place them in your trash cart and if they don't fit, you can schedule a Bulky Item pick up through Republic Services at 208-345-1266.
Reduce and Reuse
When possible, repair broken appliances.
If the item is still in usable condition, consider donating to a local thrift store, selling on an online marketplace, or gifting the item through your local Buy Nothing group.
