Before the Meeting

Written Testimony - Written testimony must be submitted by 5 p.m. on the Thursday before the hearing. This deadline ensures your testimony is included in the agenda packet.

Submit testimony to the following email addresses for the appropriate review board:

• City Council: citycouncil@cityofboise.org
• Planning and Zoning, Historic Preservation and Design Review: zoninginfo@cityofboise.org

Register to Testify - You can register in advance by clicking the meeting on the above calendar and following directions to sign up. Advanced sign up closes at noon the day of the hearing.

Preparing for the Meeting

Meetings are hosted through Zoom.

• Before the hearing, visit Zoom.us to download the software. If you plan to testify, use the Zoom Meeting Test to check your settings before the meeting.
• Need to share a presentation? Zoom works best on a computer.
• No microphone or audio capability? Call in to participate by via telephone. Click on the Zoom link to register and receive an email with instructions on how to dial in.
• Smart phones work to participate in public hearings but screen sharing functions are limited.
• We recommend having the Zoom meeting portal up and ready before the meeting begins.

Meeting Information

• Register to Testify - You can register in advance by clicking the meeting on the above calendar and following directions to sign up. Advanced sign up closes at noon the day of the hearing.
• You can still speak at the meeting, even if the online sign-up sheet has closed. Members of the public are allowed to speak after everyone on the sign-up list has spoken. For each item, in-person testimony will be heard before online testimony.

During the Public Meeting

• Please be patient and respectful of others while testifying. We reserve the right to silence or remove any participant who is not respectful during public testimony.
• All public hearings are moderated. The moderator will allow participants to speak in an orderly fashion similar to in-person public hearing procedures.
• If you are an applicant, neighborhood association leader, or listed on the sign-up sheet, you will be recognized and prompted to speak for the allotted time.
• After everyone on the sign-up sheet has spoken, other attendees may “Raise their Hand” in the Zoom platform to signify that they wish to speak on the item as well. If you are calling in, dial *9 to raise your hand.
• Everyone has up to 3 minutes to speak, except for applicants and neighborhood association leaders, who may have additional time allotted and communicated in advance.
