As Boise Fire continues to grow and evolve, so does the need for comprehensive training to ensure our firefighters are prepared to serve the community effectively. Over the past two years, we have welcomed more than 60 new firefighters to our team, necessitating an extensive training regimen. This includes probationary exams, skills assessments, promotional exam preparation, and daily ongoing training for all personnel at our stations.
Given these increased training requirements and the limited time available during each shift, Boise Fire now hosts public open houses three times per year. These events provide individuals, groups, and organizations the opportunity to tour designated stations, explore our equipment, and engage with our firefighters in a structured and informative setting.
We are committed to fostering strong community relationships and have established multiple avenues for engagement, including open houses, school visits in the spring and fall, and our annual Community Night Out each August.
We look forward to welcoming you to one of our events and strengthening our connection with the community we proudly serve.
