Dry Cleaning Plants Permit

The dry cleaning plans permit applies to engaging in the business of dry cleaning or to change to a more hazardous cleaning solvent used in existing dry cleaning equipment.

Application Materials

Before applying for this permit, please have the following materials ready:

Prevention Plan Drawings

The prevention plan drawings (site plan) should include the building floor plan with proposed area of operation including all storage and process areas.

Activity Description

Activity description stating the nature of the business, type of operations/processes, systems in use, number of control areas, quantities per control area, types of storage present and fire protection systems provided.

Hazardous Material Inventory Statement

Complete the hazardous material inventory statement (HMIS) on the Boise Fire HMIS spreadsheet.

Safety data sheets (SDS) for all chemicals listed on HMIS.

Other

You must also submit the: hazardous material management plan, emergency management plan, operation procedures and procedures for emergency shut down.

Application

  1. Log in to our online permitting and licensing system. If you are a first time user of this system, you will need to create an account.
  2. After logging in, click "Apply" and select "Fire Permit" from the top menu bar.
  • Review and accept the online disclaimer and complete the application.
  • In your application you will have the opportunity to request an inspection date and time. Please note that the Fire Department will contact you directly to confirm your inspection time.
