Phillippi Park Dog Off-Leash Hours Update
Following support for a proposal to offer off-leash hours at the park, the Boise Parks and Recreation Commission unanimously approved a nine-month pilot program for a dog off-leash area at Phillippi Park during the hours of sunrise to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to sunset (see attached map for the designated off-leash area that will be available within the park). The pilot program will start on September 1, 2022 and continue until May 2023. Signs with pilot program information will be installed around the off-leash area and additional trash cans and mutt-mitts will be added on site. Meanwhile, another vote to either approve or discontinue the dog off-leash hours at Phillippi Park will be held at a Boise Parks and Recreation Commission meeting in May 2023 following a review of the pilot program.
Members of the City of Boise’s animal compliance team plan to visit the park to educate users about dog off-leash hours during the pilot program. Click here for more information about dog off-leash rules and regulations at city parks.
