The Annexation and Rezone application reviews both Annexation and Rezone proposals for compliance with the Comprehensive Plan, Specific Area Plans, and the Zoning Ordinance. These applications require a Pre-Application Meeting with the Planning Team and are reviewed by the Planning & Zoning Commission and City Council. Annexation is the procedure in which the boundary of the city may be expanded whenever the Council deems it to be for the public convenience or necessity, or for the general welfare of the community. A Rezone is the procedure for changing the zoning district of a parcel(s) or to establish or disestablish districts. These applications can also include Development Agreements, which are used when it is determined that a rezone by itself does not meet the rezone findings and additional restrictions are required.
